PROJECT OVERVIEW

The landscape design proposals extend across multiple levels including the public realm and 3 accessible amenity roof levels.

At the heart of the scheme a new landscape courtyard is designed across an approximate 1.5m level change traversing the route from street level, direct via stepped routes either side of a sloped pathway enabling pedestrians to move from Paris Garden to Hatfields.

The design aims to contribute to the creation of a series of spaces that encourage active and lively environment for local residents, workers and wider communities. The proposals open up a new pedestrian route for people to move from Paris Garden to Hatfields connecting Christ Church through the proposed Courtyard to Hatfields and Hatfields Green. As well as this being a physical connection the design approach considers this an ecological connection with the aim of creating a series of green and enjoyable environments for people to move through at the ground floor. This green vision is extended across the buildings and the terraces, enhancing ecological connections at multiple levels across the buildings.

The design for the public realm aims to create an enriching and highly permeable place that is woven into the fabric of the local and emerging area. The series of spaces created provide a dynamic setting for the new buildings, and open up new permeability for pedestrians between Hatfields and Paris Garden.
The new courtyard provided a welcoming place at the front door of the new buildings, a space
with amenities and access to greenery for people who work, live and visit both in and around the
development.
